Rice’s Medical Equipment is looking for a DME Customer Care Specialist to help serve our patients.

This position plays a critical role in guiding patients through their medical equipment needs with care, confidence, and professionalism—ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to outstanding service.


Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for patients needing medical equipment and supplies
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with patients and caregivers
  • Educating patients on DME products, usage, and basic troubleshooting
  • Processing sales, rentals, and refills accurately and efficiently
  • Coordinating documentation and orders with insurance providers and internal teams
  • Maintaining organized patient records and sales documentation
  • Managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Answering phones with a smile so big the caller can hear it
  • Expeditiously and courteously managing phone calls and in‑person requests
  • Providing clear, compassionate communication during every patient interaction
  • Maintaining a customer‑first mindset at all times
  • Point of Sale operations and transaction processing
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure seamless patient service

  • Incredible interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new products, systems, and processes
  • Self‑motivated, driven, and dependable
  • Ability to serve all types of people with kindness and patience
  • Comfort working with insurance‑related documentation (preferred, not required)
  • Healthcare, retail, or medical equipment experience is a plus
